The ear

Personally I think the ear is the most difficult part when doing the head modelling, due to its complex shape. Therefore, to draw the topology line over the ear becomes a tough task and I did have a few pieces of draft, and finally end up with the lines as shown below, which looks not too perfect. The next step is to pull out the vertices as the method I have done for the face, and the small area in the middle that represents the hole of ear follows the same way as making nose earlier.

 
The basic ear shape is formed here, and now it is time to attach it to the head. Pull out the vertices and collapse them to the closest vertices.

 
 
During this process, it is important to have the same numbers of vertices between two elements (both ear and head), which makes it easier to merge them together. Adjust the merged area of two parts in order to get a nice outline on the connection.
